Clifford Lamar Simmons, the beloved Pastor of the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church of Los Angeles, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ when he was 10 years old. In 1990, he was ordained to the gospel ministry and five years later, at the age of 20, was called to pastor this church.
During the past twenty-five years under Pastor Simmons’ leadership, the church has experienced growth and blessings spiritually and financially. Pastor Simmons diligently works to ensure that Greater Mount Olive maintains a family-like atmosphere by making himself accessible to the members.

Pastor Simmons received his honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Bible Believers Christian College and Seminary in June 2020. A humble and honorable man, Pastor Simmons delivers the Word of God in a way that challenges, strengthens and encourages the believer, and draws the unsaved to Jesus the Christ. Pastor Simmons teaches and preaches the Word of God so that we all may know Christ in a better way.

C. Lamar Simmons has been pastoring Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church for twenty-five years and counting. We are blessed to have a man of God who has been rightly dividing the word of truth consistently each Sunday!
Pastor Simmons accepted the call of God upon his life at the tender age of 10 years old. He began preaching a praying for God's people on the radio during a youth revival throughout the city of Los Angeles, CA
We are blessed to have a young pastor who continues to walk in the light of the Lord with integrity, loyalty, dedication, and consistency. We have watched our pastor grow from a young man-child to a mature man of God. Our prayer is to continue to watch him grow as the years go by.
